First Book, Visit to Shrine and "Food"
In February Leo got his first books, his favorite of which is "Zoo," probably because it rattles more than due to what's on the pages, but oh well.
We also took Leo to visit Heian Shrine, where a traditional Shinto ceremony was performed so that he'll grow up healthy. It was an interesting cultural experience, but the religious meaning was lost on us since we aren't religious people (along with about 90% of the Japanese).
Later that evening we did "okuizome," a tradition where you pretend to give a baby his or her first meal 100 days (or so) after being born. He "ate" fish, too, which his daddy is unfortunately now allergic to. By the way, don't forget there are also new videos (ビデオ) to see!
